India 2004

My mother and I spent three weeks in India in late 2004, from November 21st to December 12th. We were based in Bombay, as guests of Navaz Patuck. We made two trips during our stay. The first was to Aurangabad, Nasik, and Pune, up in the hills above Bombay, where we visited a number of Buddhist, Hindu, and Jain cave temples, as well as the holy Godavari river. The second trip was north to the wedding of the daughter of my mother's friends Kirin and Naina Mashruwallah in Ahmedabad, and from there via Modhera, Patan, and Sidphur to the hill station of Mount Abu in Rajasthan. During this trip we visited a number of step-wells and the Modhera sun temple.
